So this is up now and seems to be fine..except, no mp3's yet
i hit the "Allow derivatives for files in this item [recommended]" button. does it just take a while to come up in the mp3 format? for me this is nice for the stream capability
Thanks again for the help

mp3's/flash stuff usually appears within an hour, unless there's a problem with the files.

If you go to the item manager, then click on "history", you'll see this:

http://www.archive.org/catalog.php?history=1&;identifier=RRE2008-05-24.flac16_MG21

Click the "task_id" link for the red row, and you'll see this:

http://www.us.archive.org/log_show.php?task_id=28328425

This is the line you're looking for:

RRE2008-05-24d1t06.flac: ERROR while decoding data state = FLAC__STREAM_DECODER_END_OF_STREAM

Basically, d1t06 is an incomplete upload. So check the fileset back out (use the "checkout" button in the item manager), finish uploading d1t06, then check it back in and that should fix it.

Hm. Where did you upload the file to? I don't see where you checked the fileset back out. You need to go here:

http://www.archive.org/checkout/RRE2008-05-24.flac16_MG21

That will reopen the FTP directory for you. As a test, I just reran the derive task and it failed again, which means the new file definitely isn't there (or it is, but it's still corrupt, but I doubt that).

I just re-ran the failed derive.php task. if the mp3's show up, you're done!
